Corporate Training or Consulting: Which Do You Need?
A practical way to choose between capability building, expert diagnosis and hands-on implementation.

Diagnose the gap
Training helps when people have the authority and tools to act but lack knowledge or practice. Consulting helps when the organisation needs diagnosis, design or independent expertise. Implementation support is required when capacity or time is the main constraint.
Misdiagnosis wastes effort: a workshop cannot fix unclear ownership, and an external consultant cannot create lasting capability without internal participation.
Match the engagement
Use training for shared language, repeatable skills and leader enablement. Use advisory work for high-stakes choices, roadmaps and programme recovery. Use a delivery team for defined outcomes with accountable milestones.
Many transformations need a sequence: diagnose, co-design, implement, then train the people who will own it.
Measure the right result
Training should show behaviour change and better work. Consulting should create clearer decisions and reduced risk. Implementation should deliver adoption and business outcomes.
Define the expected change before selecting the format. The right engagement is the smallest one that removes the real constraint.
